This week I had the pleasure of interviewing ex NHL player Drew Shore. Drew had a nine year professional hockey career playing in North America and Russia. He also spent time as a teenager with the USA National Development Program, one of the true premiere hockey programs in the world, averaging an extremely high number of first round NHL draft picks every year.
.
In the interview Drew and I discuss his own hockey career, the ups and downs he faced and primarily the best advice he has for young players trying to make their name in the sport. Essentially it comes down to this... No matter what happens, stay grounded and stay level headed. If you score a hat-trick in your game tomorrow night you are NOT going to the NHL tomorrow. If you have 10 bad games in a row... your career is not over. Be able to be excited when good things happen, upset when bad things happen but then put them aside and focus on what is in front of you!
